ANTIGUA CLASSIC YACHT REGATTA – With YACHT CLUB CORTINA D’AMPEZZO (ITALY) – ORGANIZED BY ANTIGUA YACHT CLUB MARINA & RESORT – The magical combination of serious racing, laid-back Antiguan hospitality, plenty of rum, sunshine, and great camaraderie in a friendly relaxed atmosphere, places the Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta in a class of its own.

1 – RULES
1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in 2017-2020 World Racing Rules of Sailing. The CSA Classic Rating Rule will apply for all boats except Spirit of Tradition, Historic and Dragon classes. For Spirit of Tradition and Historic boats, the CSA Main Rule will apply.
1.2 For Dragon – one design to Dragon Class rule.
1.5 Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta (ACYR) Minimum Safety Rules will apply.
1.6 The sailing instructions may change some racing rules. Any changes will appear in full in the sailing instructions.
2 – ADVERTISING
Boats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority.
3 – ELIGIBILITY
3.1 To be eligible for Vintage, Classic and Traditional and Tall Ship types – boats to have a full keel, are of moderate to heavy displacement, built of wood or steel and of traditional rig and appearance. Old craft using modern materials, such as epoxy or glass
sheathing, or new craft built along the lines of an old design are acceptable. Boats built of other materials may be accepted if they have a gaff or traditional schooner rig.
3.2 For the Classic GRP class, boats should have a full long keel with a keel-hung rudder, and be a descendant of a wooden boat design.
3.3 Spirit of Tradition class boats are eligible.
3.4 For the new Historic Class – Yachts designed & built before the end of 1976 in any material with any keel configuration are eligible. Examples include Sparkman &
Stephens designs, Nautor’s Swan and Baltic. Yachts will be accepted or rejected by
the Steering Committee and any decision is final and not appealable.
3.5 Dragon class boats are eligible.
3.6 Only monohulls are eligible
3.7 Boats not fitting into the above categories may apply in writing, with documents and photographs or drawings to support their request for entry.
3.8 Any boats unknown to the Regatta shall submit photographs or drawings of the hull and rig for acceptance and class assignment. This should be emailed to
entry@antiguaclassics.com
3.9 All entrants should register at www.antiguaclassics.com/registration
3.10 Information is available on the website.
3.11 To be eligible for the Concours d’Elégance and the Single-Handed Race a boat
must be a participant in the Regatta.
4 – CLASSIFICATION
4.1 The following classes may be used: Vintage, Classic, Traditional, Historic, Classic GRP, Spirit of Tradition, Dragon and Tall Ships
4.2 Boats will be assigned classes by the OA at its sole discretion.
4.3 Each class will be divided into groups of similar size, rig and performance as much as possible.
5 – FEES
5.1 US$6.00 per foot LOD (length on deck) for boats 50 feet and below, US$8.00 for boats
51 – 99 feet and US$10.00 for boats 100 feet and above- if registered by 1st March 2019.
5.2 After 1st March 2019 entry fees rise to US$10.00 per foot LOD for boats 50 feet and
below, US$12.00 for boats 51 – 99 feet and US$14.00 for boats 100 feet and above.
5.3 Entrants are to pay entry fees by Visa or MasterCard or by wire transfer by telephoning +1 268-460-1799. Alternatively, entry fees can be paid in person by Visa, MasterCard or  cash at the Antigua Yacht Club, which is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday.
6 – SCHEDULE
6.1 Registration and Inspection: Wednesday 17th April at the Antigua Yacht Club from 0900
to 1800 hrs.
6.2 All Captains must register to confirm arrival and receive current regatta documents.
6.3 Late registrations may not receive free promotional materials.
6.4 Racing: Thursday 18th April –Single Handed Race and Skippers’ Briefing
Friday 19th April – RACE 1
Saturday 20th April – RACE 2
Sunday 21st April – RACE 3
Monday 22nd April – RACE 4 and Prize Giving
Tuesday 23rd April – Gig Racing
6.6 Social events include a Welcome Party, Concours d’Elégance and Single-Handed Race Prize Givings, Owners Party, Parade of Classics, Cream Teas, Prize Giving, Music Night and more.
7 – MEASUREMENT AND RATINGS
7.1 All entrants in the CSA Classic Rule division must complete the full ships data form currently available on the ACYR website. Additional information and/or some
measurement may be required before a final rating can be issued.
7.2 All entrants in the CSA Main Rule divisions of Spirit of Tradition and Historic will require a full 2019 CSA certificate.
7.3 Dragon – one design to Dragon Class rules
7.4 Any measurement fee incurred for verification will be charged directly to the yacht by the CSA measurer.
8 – SAILING INSTRUCTION
Sailing instructions will be issued at Registration.
9 – VENUE
Racing will take place off the south coast of Antigua. On-shore events will take place at the Antigua Yacht Club.
10 – COURSES
Course cards will be handed out at registration.
11– SCORING
11.1 All races completed will count.
11.2 One race is required to complete a series.
12– DOCKAGE
Limited free dockage is available at the Antigua Yacht Club Marina. For further information on dockage contact the dockmaster.
13– PRIZES
A list of prizes and/or trophies to be awarded will be given in the Sailing Instructions.
14– DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors participate in the Regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race.
The OA and AYCR will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during or after the Regatta.
